Hello everyone, i just installed proxmox for the first time and after the installation followed https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Developer_Workstations_with_Proxmox_VE_and_X11 since i needed to get some vms going for work and didn‘t have any client on hand. Now whenever i open chromium and navigate...
I recently bought a server on which I run Proxmox for virtualization.
First I installed Proxmox directly on my 1TB SSD, but then realized that I was losing almost 100GB for the "local" partition, but I wanted to use the fast SSD storage for the "local-lvm", i.e. the VMs themselves...
My PVE 6.2-12 installation insists on reverting the search domain back to "local".
The first time or two, I thought I forgot to set the domain, today was the third or forth time I changed it to the correct domain.
How can I fix this? It's causing trouble in PMG where senders expect to find...
I'm new to proxmox.
I installed the default regular way. When I logged in to the web gui I see local and local-lvm under the pve node.
When I click the "initialize Disk with GPT" option it works for all disk except for the Samsung 970 Evo nvme SSD which fails with exit code 2.
I see in various examples the referenced donation of ostemplate as something like:
.... ostemplate="local:vztmpl/debian-.....tar.gz" and so forth
My question is where is "local:vztmpl/" physically on both the proxmox server and in the proxmox gui.
The template in which I saw this...

I have recently installed a Proxmox 4.4-18/ef2610e8 node in a existing cluster. Our node has a 8 TB disc, but I realised that our storage is like this:
local: 100 GB
local-lvm : (almost) 8 TB
Since the other nodes on the cluster have storage type local, we would prefer this new node will...
I haven't tried installing proxmox to a high volume drive and once I did on my 2 TB hard drive the root directory is only shown to be using up 88 GB. Can anyone please help me initialize the big chunk of the unused area in my 2 TB hard drive?
I installed Promxmox 5.1-38 version. I have 2T hard drive. After installation it has 90G local (PATH /var/lib/vz ) and the rest of hard is local-lvm (LVM-thin). Now I want to increase local up to 300G and leave the rest for local-lvm.
I do the following steps :
I am currently trying to create a VM/CT in proxmox, however I get the following error during machine creation:
TASK ERROR: no such volume group 'pve'
Upon some checking, I noticed that the Local-lvm has no Space at all allocated to it.
When I installed this instance, I setup a SW raid...
I'm trying to upgrade my server from 3.4 to 4.4, I created backups of my VM's but there is not enough space to upload them to the new machine. I have backups that are 150gb+ in size but the local content of 4.4 is only 100gb in size. I have plenty of space in local-lvm, but I can't upload...
