I'm not sure if I can solve my problem.
So recently I bought the DeskMeet X300 case with Ryzen 7 4750G, 64GB RAM ECC and 2x12TB HDD drives.
My goal was to virtualize TrueNAS with HDD passthrough and another VM with Batocera with iGPU passthrough for emulation.
The probem is that when I run VM...
Hello!
I'm having some issues moving my PCIE disk to a virtual machine. This is all happening on the same machine.
I installed Proxmox on a separate disk, booted it, and setup pcie passthrough.
I've passed through my Samsung NVME SSD via PCIe Passthrough but it will not boot.
This is my current...
it may be a bad title, but I don't know how else to describe it.
So I have a Ubuntu Server VM on Proxmox and I want to passthrough some drives (as passing through a directory does nto work afaik). I used sudo qm set 105 -scsi2 /dev/sdb1 to do so. I then mounted it in the guest by putting...
I'm using a Dell Precision T7610 workstation that has 4 HDD bays and a backplane RAID controller.
I have 4 drives:
2, 4TB SAS HDD's & 2, 2TB SAS HDD's.
I have read that I cannot use a hardware and software RAID together, makes sense. Is there a way to neutralize the hardware RAID controller so...
I created a new virtual machine on proxmox using OMVF for UEFI support for my Arch Linux install, after finishing setup I shutdown the VM, detached the CD/ROM drive, and used "qm set <VMID> -efidisk0 /dev/disk/by-id/<DISKID-PART#-OFEFI>,efitype=4m,format=raw" followed by "qm set <VMID> -scsi0...
Hallo zusammen,
Hi All,
I'm running TrueNas within Proxmox 7.2-3 on a Dell T630 server. Within TrueNas, I'm using four pass-through drives (da1, da2, da3, and da4).
I'm trying to reduce power consumption and temps on my server, so within the TrueNas UI, I set each disk to spin down after 20 mins and to use...
My current NAS setup has Proxmox VE running on bare metal and TrueNAS Scale running in a VM.
I created a zfs pool "appspool" from the UI: Datacenter -> Storage -> Add -> ZFS
I then created a TrueNAS scale VM and passed through the disk qm set 900 --scsi2...
Hello,
I just passed through a 6TB HDD with exFAT file system to my windows 10 guest machine.
The Drive is listed as virtio2 in Proxmox and is visible in the windows disk management tool.
Disk 1 is not visible in the explorer, clicking "delete volume" gives me this warning:
Can I delete...

Hello,
I have a server with ECC RAM and multiple disks, means it's equipped like a NAS.
However, I want to install Proxmox and run a VM with TrueNAS Core.
All relevant disks (e.g. WD Red) will be configured as passthrough for this VM.
Then in TrueNAS Core I will configure these drives for ZFS...
I am attempting to pass through a single, entire disk to a VM but get issues post-installation of the OS. The intention is to have a disk that I can hotswap between two physical hosts, instead of having it installed on a virtual disk as a qcow2/raw image
I followed the disk passthrough guide on...
Hi. One quick question.
Is it a safe practice to passthrough LUKS encrypted disk to VM by pointing to /dev/mapper/ mounted disk ?
I know VM can handle the whole encryption thing, but I have special needs :)
Thanks in advance
There are several disks with exFAT and NTFS partitions. NTFS partition disks are visible in the guest OS. Disks with an exFAT partition are visible as disks with a RAW partition. Can you tell me where my mistake is?
Guest OS with Linux Server 20.04 work with such disks correctly

I have big harddrives with lots of data inside that I want to keep and use.
The filesystem on the drives is xfs on a single partition.
I have mounted HDDs before, I used something like this: https://manjaro.site/how-to-add-extra-hard-drives-to-proxmox-6-2-ve/
However that creates a .raw drive...
Running OpenMediaVault (OMV) through an LXC would be quite useful and it appears there is a desire to do this. Can storage device (eg block storage) be passed through to LXC containers for direct hardware access?
Here is a thread expressing such interest...
Hi
This week i had some spare time and installed windows Server 2019 on my Proxmox Server (AMD EPYC 7232P, Supermicro H12SSL-CT, 128gb DDR4 ECC RDIMM) Kernel Version Linux 5.4.106-1-pve #1 SMP PVE 5.4.106-1.
I intend to use it as a NVME storage server. I installed an Asus Hyper m.2x16 gen 4...
Hi,
I'm fairly new to Proxmox and Linux, so please excuse my noobiness.
Objective
Trying to move away from a MacMini hosting SMB shares (the crooked Apple way), TimeMachines and running some Debian/Windows VMs via Virtualbox for Homelab stuff. Moving towards a "real" (home) server with Debian...
I'm running one of the Sun F80 PCIe SSD cards, and I'm having some troubles accessing it. Here's what I've tried so far:
1. Create storage, and add part of the SSD as a disk in an existing Windows 10 VM. This was working, but was either super slow, or I ran into the same problem I'll...
