Hello,
I have a "specific" setup on my proxmox machine.
There are 16 SCSI disks passed through to VM machine as VIRTIO-SCSII devices, there is also a pendrive passed through, and this VM runs unRaid system. As there is no possibility to automatically boot from passed through USB (AFAIK) i...
We have some server that display some really long boot time. We are talking about 30min to 45min each.
At first I though it was related to the server POST but the image here show the server finished his POST correctly and gave control to the OS. This is where they hang for 30+ min.
We have...
How can I fix the boot / startup process on pmx4.4 when I can start a node perfectly using "rescue mode" from the iso, but trying to boot directly only gives me a black screen with a blinking cursor? Nothing is logged during that failed boot.
Hi there!
I'm attempting to configure dual GPU passhtrough to two guest Win10 VMs.
I managed to pass the first GPU to a Win10 guest just fine (GTX 750Ti). I then decided to add the second GPU (GTX980), so I included its IDs to "/etc/modprobe.d/vfio.conf" and rebooted the server as per the...
Hello!
I have migrated / copied over a virtual disk (qcow2) created with Virsh.
This disk has 2 partitions and uses UEFI.
When I start a VM in Proxmox using this virtual disk, the SeaBIOS is loaded and fails to boot UEFI.
How can I fix this?

Hey All !

For now we solve it by ssh into the Proxmox host and run - qm stop machine_id

Hi there,

Hello,
Is it a good idea to install Proxmox VE 5 on an SD card?
I have a new Dell R630 server with a dual SD card and I would avoid using my SSD disks to install the system.
Thank you
I have LSI controler 3108 and 2x6TB disk in raid 1

Hi,
I am having a bit of a crisis with Proxmox V5 at the moment,
One of our critical corporate servers local backup has been failing since Thursday night with the following message:

Hi all,
I am creating a VM with a centos iso installed as a CDROM (ide2) and the VM will not boot from cdrom. The seaBIOS sits there doing nothing.
I am doing the same thing on proxmox4.4 and the VM boots just fine from the same iso.
The VM options look the same on both proxmox 4.4 and 5.0...
So I just upgraded to 5.0-23 tonight.
When I try to boot the system, I now receive this error:
[28.072000] NMI watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 23s! [swapper/0:1]
The machine will keep spitting out variations of that error (only thing that changes is the timing. Instead of 23s it...
Hallo,

Hi All,
First time poster.
I've been running a 3.4 install for several years now(24/7) - without any problems. It's a small NAS box running 4x2TB 3.5 Hard Drives in a Raid10 configuration(single zpool). I recently decided to upgrade drives 3 & 4 to 6tb drives. I had previously successfully...
Hello,
I'm trying to enable PCI passthrough for two GPUs on our DELL PowerEdge R720. I followed the instructions on https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Pci_passthrough.
After rebooting I landed in the "grub>" command line. I could recover the system by using a live CD and removing "intel_iommu=on" in...
The general consensus seems to be that reading and writing onto a USB often would wear down the flash drive quickly.
However, I believe ESXi loads the hypervisor into memory on boot. What is stopping Proxmox from implementing a similar setup?
Occasionally we experience unplanned, spontaneous reboots on our Proxmox nodes installed on ZFS. The problem we are having is related to vzdump backups: if a reboot happens during an active vzdump backup that locks a VM, after reboot the locked guest will not start, and needs to be manually...
