Agree with @bobmc. Using any redundancy inside a VM is really counterproductive. Once you have some form of redundancy in the physical storage, using just standard LVM for a VM is the way to go for best performance. Same goes if you had shared storage such as Ceph, Gluster, DRBD etc.
Hello,
I have a PMG cluster where I have one Master. It is up and running. But when trying to join a 2nd node to the cluster i keep getting the following error:
fingerprint 'XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX' not verified, abort!
The fingerprint belongs to this node 2. Anything I can check to solve...
The process is very simple. You do not need to reconfigure the drive itself.
This needs to be done from Command line:
1. Create an empty directory with any name. For example,
# mkdir /mnt/lvmdata
2. Run the command lvdisplay to get the exact name of the LVM you created. It should be in...
Are you trying to upload ISO images? LVM is a block level storage. I dont believe you can store any ISO or LXC templates on block storage. You should mount the drive in a directory and add it to Pmx as Local storage instead of LVM. You can still have LVM on the actual drive, just need to mount it.
I may have found a solution to this OSD issue.
All the drives that I am trying to use as OSD were part of a ZFS cluster previously. Even though they were all formatted it looks like I need some additional steps to make them usable as OSD. There may be better solution, but this is what worked...
According to the solution provided in the following thread, I was also able to add the OSD to the Ceph cluster without any issue:
https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/osd-not-being-created.39089/
Is it a bug in Proxmox 5.2?
Hello,
Having a new issue never had before. I am using the following the command to create an OSD in a newly deployed Ceph cluster. The command finishes successfully but there is no OSD created or even assigned any number to OSD. The OSD directory under /var/lib/ceph is empty:
#pveceph...
Hello,
Is it possible to send Daily SPAM report to the Admin only and not to all users? Most users in one of the environment are too computer illiterate to know what action to take such as Black/white list etc. I would like the SPAM reports for one particular domain abc.com to go to only...
Hello,
This is not an issue but more of a clarification. If I use PMX MG in active-active setup so all emails come through both gateway1 and gateway2, will I have to log in to them separately to check email queue/tracking centre etc.? Or login into one gateway will show all info in MG...
Hello,
I have a domain abc.com and the email format is firstname.lastname@abc.com. Email transmissions are working fine no issue there. But we are seeing a very large number of emails hitting the gateway for which the actual email address does not exist. We are receiving about 4000 emails...
Hello,
My Proxmox Mailgateway serves 3 email domains, domain1.com, domain2.com, domain3.com. Domain1 and domain2 are in the same subnet as mailgateway and all are working. The 3rd domain3.com is on another location. I am trying to setup domain3 to use PMX Mailgateway on location 1 as smarthost...
Hello,
I am using PMX MG for both incoming and outgoing emails. Emails are flowing fine, except the Deferred Mail list is full of items saying
Sender address rejected: Domain not found (in reply to RCPT TO command)
The error msg is only for all notification emails the gateway is trying to...
This is not an issue posting. But my first impression of Proxmox Mail Gateway 5.0. I am WOWed by it!
I tried to use PMX MG 4 years ago. But the licensing, complexity of raising a cluster was not the cup of tea I was willing to drink. I have not kept up with the development of MG. But recently...
You are correct, pveceph/GUI creates OSD with full weight. In most cases it is not a problem really. If your recovery threads are set very low and you add 1 OSD at a time, Ceph cluster will be able to handle the load fine. If you have dedicated network for Ceph sync and it is +10gbps, this will...
Here is what happened in my opinion. This is without knowing what procedure you have used during adding that node, so apologize in advance.
If you added the node and all 8 SSDs at the same time, this sort of problem is very much expected. On top of that your new SSDs are 1.6TB instead of...
Is there a particular reason you are using subnet 255.255.255.255? Is it point to point connection? Double check the IP configuration you are using for that VM.
