I have a question. I am going to install my proxmox server with two separate zfs raid. Raid 1 for the installation system with two SSDs in uefi mode and then I have two 2TB Nvme 4.0 to create another raid 1 for the VMs. My question is, is it worth activating compression in Raid 1 where proxmox will be installed? What is your opinion.Thank you.

yes.

My doubt was because since in that Raid rpool I am not going to host virtual machines, what is the point of it being compressed?.

And wath is the best for Raid 1 system on BIOS, legacy or UEFI. ?

compression has to advantages:
- it allows the system to auto-sparsify files which contain lots of zero bytes
- it saves I/O if the data is compressible (which a lot of system files are!)

most modern systems should use UEFI.
