I'm new to Proxmox VE and have a problem configuring my first server's network. I'm using an onboard Intel network card (I219-V, driver e1000e) and an external USB 3.0 network card from Realtek (RTL8153, driver r8152).
The Intel I219-V is configured for a peer-to-peer connection to my backup server, while the Realtek RTL8153 connects to my home network. I occasionally lose the network connection to the server, making it unreachable. Rebooting temporarily resolves the issue.
I've already discovered that support for both chipsets is suboptimal under Proxmox. Although I've tried updating the drivers, I've been unsuccessful.
So I'm now looking for a reliable alternative. Which network cards do you recommend for either replacing the Realtek RTL8153 or replacing both cards (RTL8153 and I219-V)? I hope someone here can help me with their experience.
