Hi folks,

Just after a sanity check here. I recently upgraded my Proxmox 5.x server to 5.1 and noticed the following errors on boot.

Code:
[ 0.000000] [Firmware Bug]: TSC_DEADLINE disabled due to Errata; please update microcode to uersion: 0x3a (or later)
Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while...
Volume group "pve" not found Cannot process volume group pve
/deu/mapper/pve-root: clean, 132563/901120 files, 1694209/3604480 blocks [ 6.2625291 Error: Driver 'pcspkr' is already registered, aborting...
[    6.2683061 power_meter ACPI000D:00: Ignoring unsafe software power cap!
[ 6.8693211 EDAC sbridge: Some needed devices are missing
[ 7.1321321 EDAC sbridge: Couldn’t find mci handler
[ 7.1321491 EDAC sbridge: Failed to register device with error -19.

I understand from previous posts that the pcspkr and power_meter errors are normal but could you please comment on the following.

1. [Firmware Bug]: TSC_DEADLINE
2. Volume group "pve" not found
3. EDAC sbridge

VMs and CTs all boot up fine and haven't noticed any issues, but would still like to be a little more informed on the reason for the above errors, please let me know if you'd like me to supply any additional information.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same Problem.

Thanks @sahostking and @scaa for adding your reports of the same error. It would be good to find out what is causing these errors and if there is anything that can be done about them from someone in the community or the Proxmox devs themselves tagging @tom @fabian.

The node seems to be functioning, but I don't like not knowing what these errors mean.

hi all,

We have the same error message, and like you, all seems to be functionnal :
* server HP Proliant ML350 Gen9
* 2 x CPU Xeon E5-2630 v3 Octo-core
* RAM 32 Go
* 4 integrated Gigabit NIC

* Debian 9.3 / Proxmox 5.1 CE

I recently added a few new nodes using pve 5.1 and I have update the kernel to the latest version

but I am still seeing following errors
Code:
[ 7.435465] EDAC MC0: Giving out device to module sb_edac.c controller Ivy Bridge SrcID#0_Ha#0: DEV 0000:ff:0e.0 (INTERRUPT)
[ 7.435545] EDAC MC1: Giving out device to module sb_edac.c controller Ivy Bridge SrcID#0_Ha#1: DEV 0000:ff:1c.0 (INTERRUPT)
[    7.435546] EDAC sbridge:  Ver: 1.1.2

The kerrnel Version is 4.13.13-6-pve (4.13.13-42)

I have tried on following hardwares and CPU
  • Dell PowerEdge R420 using E5-2430v2
  • Supermicro X9-SRi using E5-2696v2
It seems to me C602 and E5-2600v2 are affected
