A lot of SMBs and SOHOs use it as ZFS ram requirements are very costly for them.

I haven't yet tried a 5.0 installation, but I was wondering if the PVE installer allows creation of Linux software RAID and then installation of PVE on that RAID? On 4.x, I had to do a manual install of generic Debian first, then (hard to remember, it has been a few years ago) do something else...

We're preparing a migration scenario where we'd like upgrade our Proxmox 3.4 cluster to 4.x and convert our exisitng storage to SSD. Would you consider it smart enough to put DRBD9 based volume over mdadm RAID-10 over a set of SSD storage? AFAIK, SSDs themselves should be able to provide...
I added two SSD in my server to have speedy partition to store VM images. I've create mirror over that two SSD with mdadm, then create LVM over that mirror (so I can afford to do snapshot backup of VM). Then I've mkfs.ext4-ted over that LVM.
Now I wonder: what if I set or not set 'discard'...
