Proxmox VE 3.0 released!

you must use kernel 2.6.32 "pve".
This is NOT a Debian Kernel but RH6x kernel, this is a 2.6.32 version drugged with a lot fix and improvements (and driver update) derived from the latest kernel version.

Thanks, I thought so.
I didn't have any problems with the 3.2 kernel on Proxmox, using only KVM. Obviously, OpenVZ containers didn't work because it was non-openvz kernel.

Great Work :)

It will be great thing to implement OpenVZ Containers Templates and Clones from the GUI also (same as for VM Templates and Clones).

we have OpenVZ templates since 2008 - seems you missed that :)

Hello,
Are there any plans for moving to kernel 3.2 in proxmox?

Regards,
Jussi

no, proxmox ve uses RHEL kernels only. (RHEL6 is based on 2.6.32, upcoming RHEL7 is based on 3.9 or higher)

I have a problem:

I've download and tested 3.0... Not sure if anyone posted before but I no longer see the Proxmox version show up on GUI as in 2.3 next to proxmox logo. It's nice to see the software version displayed once logged in via browser.

Also, in 2.3 I believe I was asked if wanted to encrypt hard drive or some partitions during install - didn't notice that for 3.0...

Thanks for great software!!!

this is a known issue on your local browser. just clear all cached items in your browser. in latest packages (from pvetest) you also see detailed version (pveversion -v) on the gui.

encryption is not implemented, did you filed an enhancement request (in our bugtracker) with detailed specs/wishes?

Will the link upgrade from a 2.2-32 version up to 3.0 or do I need to do an update to 2.3 before I update to 3.0?

This is an outdated Repo for the 3ware controller CLI and 3dm2 webtool. Remove the lines in /etc/apt/sources.list.

This repo is not longer needed. Go to the 3ware support page and download the latest cli/3dm2 installation package. This installs pretty easy with a shell script on all linux distros. No .deb needed anymore.
