If dkim signing is done by upstream mta then the mail gateway should not aktwe in any way the message as the result Is the mismatch in the dkim encryption.I guess that should be done on the sending server instead.

Yes but it should be done via gui to be able to properly sync and backup those settings.Please note dkim signature is easily pluggable in pmg as is.
You just need a bit of expierence with unix shell and postfix.
