Proxmox 5.2 fresh cluster - KVM Templates storage ?

Hello,

Proxmox 5.2 is amazing, period. However I am in a loop hole as I do not understand the following issues:

  • I could only mount 1 NFS storage instead of 1 x each nodes, I guess this is the way to do it inside a cluster ?!
  • I cannot copy the KVM templates on all nodes, they always stay on node 1

Can you please explain to me how can I move my existing KVM Templates to my NFS ? I am full cloning them so I guess it should work ?

I am very unsure how to copy the templates, since a KVM Template has a config file in 1 location and the disk in another location...

Please advise, I would appreciate it!

Hi,
I could only mount 1 NFS storage instead of 1 x each nodes, I guess this is the way to do it inside a cluster ?!
Storages are cluster-wide but can restrict to nodes.
The storage is cluster-wide because it is important for migration.
I cannot copy the KVM templates on all nodes, they always stay on node 1
After the cloning process, you can migrate the VM to the other nodes.
Can you please explain to me how can I move my existing KVM Templates to my NFS ?
use the "Move disk" Button in the Guest HW Tab

There is no way to create a cluster-wide Template?

So scenario 1:
- Template VM is on the NFS cluster shared storage...
- Node with Template VM goes down...

I cant create VM on other nodes from template because Template VM node is not alive???

In order for me to do that I need to have full clone Template VM on every node ?

Thus using: (node no.) x (Template VM disk size) on the same shared NFS storage for just one identical VM Template?
