Hello,

I'm trying to enable PCI passthrough for two GPUs on our DELL PowerEdge R720. I followed the instructions on https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Pci_passthrough.

After rebooting I landed in the "grub>" command line. I could recover the system by using a live CD and removing "intel_iommu=on" in the grub config.

What could possibly be the cause for that?

Thank you very much!

Regards,

Daniel

P.S.: And thanks for this amazing Virtual Environment!

Hello,

I'm trying to enable PCI passthrough for two GPUs on our DELL PowerEdge R720. I followed the instructions on https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Pci_passthrough.

The note in the above mentioned wiki page says "PCI passthrough is an experimental feature in Proxmox VE" - PCI passthrough is not trivial and the solution is not compatible with all hardware.

IOMMU is also a part of the bios may be there is newer fixed bios for your Dell

Thanks for your answers!

I tried it again but first blacklisted the drivers and added the ids to vfio_pci. After a restart the GPUs were connected to the vfio_pci driver and I could pass them through. Maybe someone should alter the order in the article linked above?

Regards!
