Hello proxmox users!

quick question about using nvme m.2 drives.

I have a pcie to m.2 cardholder in my server with a total of 4 drives.

I need a vm with a lot of speed.

In terms of performance, is it better to pass through the whole card or is there no loss when creating virtual disks?

There will always be some overhead. How much really depends on where/how you store that virtual disk. So PCI passthrough of the M.2 should be fastest, as you skip that overhead (virtualization, mixed blocksizes, nested filesystems, Copy-on-Write, ...).
Best you just test it and benchmark that yourself to see how big the impact in your case with your specific workload would be.
