Dear All,

I need your help as I have an urgent requirement in my organization to migrate a VM on the Proxmox hypervisor to the VMware vSphere hypervisor.

Could you please advise if you have an approach which was applied before to do the same?

Probably the easiest (assuming this is VM and not container) is V2V conversion using clonezilla. So basically create a similar configured VM with slightly larger HD size on your target VM (in this case vsphere), boot both machines with virtual cd of clonezilla, and do disk to disk clone over ethernet. You can search google for "How to Clone a Device over LAN using Clonezilla".

or you can try V2V using VMware vCenter Converter

you can also use "qemu-img convert", to convert vm disk file to vmdk format, and import them in vmware

One solution has not been mentioned if you want to migrate a container:

Install PVE inside of VMware and Backup & Restore via PVE Backup.

PS: This is not a joke, it's a valid use of LX(C) containers directly inside VMware with a great GUI :-D
