[SOLVED] Issue with Ubuntu VM Setup on Proxmox VE with 4 Core CPU

Thank you everyone.
Ubuntu is not the lightest flavor on the block. Give Alpine a try and you will be amazed. There is probably ways of thinning down the Ubuntu install, but that is not for this forum.

Happy you got it working, maybe mark this thread as Solved. At the top of the thread, choose the Edit thread button, then from the (no prefix) dropdown choose Solved.

I'll check Alpine as well.
I'll mark this as solved.
This was definitely a problem I couldn't have solved alone, so I want to thank everyone on the forum, and especially gfngfn256 for providing the solution.
Thank you very much!

Yes, Ubuntu CAN work with 1GB of memory or less, I personally have a VM with 512MB of memory. The version you picked (Server) is intended for bare metal servers and comes with lots of features and bells and whistles. The mini/container/embedded distro's will allow you to go down in resources quite a bit, you can make/get stripped down versions of Ubuntu or you can pick another distro, it's all Linux, the question is how much effort do you want to put in it and what features do you want to disable to get to the desired footprint.

I was able to run a VM with just 1GB by using Ubuntu Minimal.
Thank you.
