Not sure if this is the right place as its not really an appliance... But would anybody be interested in seeing a new front end design?

If so I am more than happy to devote some time on updating the existing design - I am a designer by nature and can see several places where front end design can be improved. Generally if a piece of software has a sleek and professional front end design more people will want to use it... At least that's what I have found :)

I'm not sure what the process is for helping out with the project or if even its allowed (although its GPL)... Maybe someone from the dev team may want to point this out / get in contact with me?

From what I have seen so far its a good piece of software... keep up teh good work :D

thanks for your offer. we are quite open for any suggestions - Martin will contact you directly.

mm I like the current front-end ;)
Its clean and open.

I don't like changes, they make me nervous

(sorry couldn't resist :p )

I agree with Bob.

PVE is excellent! Great functionality!

But a new design for the web-interface will be very appreciated.

Look-and-feel could be very, very important.

Chopeta

We carfully designed the web interface to make it easys to use. So far most people like the design.

Anyways, if you have a better design just let us know.

go for it :)

While I love the current design - it is simplistic in nature - a new one would be nice.

I looked @ what perhaps might be best described as vaporware by some (not really sure it is yet) a project called Enomalism.

Their interface looks super!

But then again they are a design house first... (ruv.net)

I love ProxMox - the current design is great... not beautiful but function.
And lets face it ...

Fuction over Form anyday...

Great work ProxMox

I suggest to implement more ajax feature, and to use another framework like jquery and not prototype that was older and very huge respect the one I told.

Best Regards

P.S. is interesting to implement such modularized features or API so people can make his frontedn for example for nut (energy ups) etc. etc.

P.P.S. I see in the roadmap that you will impelment some monitoring feature, I like the Monitorx solution, is quite simple and good :)

That is simply not true - Jquery is just 4KB smaller.

prototype-1.6.0.2.js is 128K
jquery-1.3.2.js is 124K

I certainly do not change my framework just to save 4KB.

OK, but if you use the minified version u can save above 50k... but, by the way, if u know well prototype u have the freedom of choice :)

And another questions, is possible to utilize a small web server like nginx instead of apache? Is very Stable and low resource consumer.

Cheers

Apache needs a lot of RAM but due to the fact that some needed extensions are only for apache there is no change for a lighter browser.

apache itself does not need so much RAM, but also the loaded extensions. so if you change the web server and load the same extensions there is only minimum benefit.
