AD Login in PMG

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with LDAP authentication on my Proxmox Mail Gateway v8.1.4.

I have configured LDAP, tested it successfully, and verified that it retrieves the admin users as expected. However, on the login page, I do not have an option to select LDAP as an authentication method.

For context, I have successfully configured and used LDAP authentication in Proxmox VE (PVE) and Proxmox Backup Server (PBS), so I am confident in the configuration itself.

Is there a workaround or solution to enable LDAP authentication on the PMG login page?

this is not (yet) possible, unfortunately, see also https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3509 on our bugtracker.

You can subscribe to the issue there if you want, so you get updates whenever something changes.

It looks like there's been some progress on this now that PMG 8.2 has imported the VE 'Realms' function, but there's only OpenID realms available at the moment. Are LDAP and AD support planned here to match capabilities with PVE?

Yes! I'd suggest to subscribe to Bugzilla #3509.
Until now, the work was basically "blocked" on the OIDC work, since it laid a lot of groundwork (such as e.g. separate realms) that is required for LDAP/AD support too.
