I'm trying to add an external quorum server (Qnetd) to my 2-node cluster to allow for safe HA operation.
The cluster itself is setup, each nodes sees the other, migrations work, backup and restore works, etc.
I simply installed corosync-qnetd on a 3rd box (fresh debian 10), without errors...
Basically what I want to achieve is having 2 node cluster with offsite backups for redundancy. In case of node 1 failing, I will restore backups on node 2 and proceed using it.
The problem is Quorum on node 2 when node 1 is dead - node 2 does not have a quorum and therefore cannot start...
I noticed that there's a new feature under the pvecm command to add a qdevice. I have been using Proxmox at home and for clients in a single node local storage configuration for almost a year now, and have been dying to mess with a proper shared storage/two node HA setup. My dream setup would be...
Is there any way like
pvecm add NOdEIP -use_ssh
to do the same for
pvecm addnode ?
Is there any way to change the node's name afterwards?
# pvecm status
Date: Mon Oct 1 16:10:23 2018
Quorum provider: corosync_votequorum
Is there a way to configure the pvecm without using multicast?
Is there a way using pvecm create cluster to force to use the internal, and not the public IP Address?
We have proxmox nodes which own a public IP Address which automatically is used for cluster-management.
I was able to run a...
I'm trying to add a node to a cluster, but it keeps getting stuck at "waiting for quorum..."
I can get past it by doing "pvecm expected 1" on the node, but it doesn't actually add it to the cluster.
journalctl -f shows this over and over again:
Jun 29 01:33:40 waifu-pve...
I have a cluster running, and I am trying to add a new node but receive the following error
root@vhost05:/etc/pve# pvecm add vhost13
detected the following error(s):
* authentication key '/etc/corosync/authkey' already exists
* cluster config '/etc/pve/corosync.conf' already exists

I'm trying to install a cluster with Proxmox VE 4.4 with different interfaces (1 for management, 1 for service, 1 for ha and 1 for storage).
When I try to create a cluster with pvecm, I have the next error:
root@proxmox2:~# pvecm create satecprod -bindnet0_addr 10.13.3.102
I have a cluster with 2 nodes, and as configured by default, they both have 1 vote and will not reach quorum:
Expected votes: 2
Highest expected: 2
Total votes: 1
Quorum: 2 Activity blocked
I've tried stopping the...
I have been pulling my hair out today and have reinstalled Proxmox on 3 different servers about 4 times each so far because not only does it not work but I can't seem to revert back either.
I have 3 servers (nodes) running Proxmox 4.2-23
All 3 servers are on an RPN network as well as having...
I have a fresh setup of Proxmox VE 4.2-15 cluster with two nodes running, Proxmox01 and Proxmox02.
Using Proxmox01's UI as my management UI, I'm able to deploy and setup a VM on Proxmox01 with no sweat. However, I'm having an issue deploying a VM in Proxmox02 (using Proxmox01's UI). I was...
I have couple of questions related to the PVE Cluster.
First question :
I am trying to setup a Proxmox VE cluster.
I have three nodes, but two of them already have been configured and are now in production.
I would like to know if It is safe to try to configure the cluster in...
Following the guides to remove a node from a cluster, i shutdown and deleted the node that was to be shutdown as per the instructions in the wiki (following the WARNING) that it should NOT ever go online again because that would mess upp the cluster.
Now i can't write to /etc/pve at all and if...
