Good Morning,
I installed an update in ProxMox today from the GUI and I got an error that I have not seen before.
"System booted in EFI-mode but 'grub-efi-amd64' meta-package not installed!"
I have installed many updates but I have never had this mentioned before. I have NOT rebooted the...
HI All,
I have a weird issue I've been chasing for sometime. I don't think it's strictly a Proxmox issue, but I'm not sure whats happening.
I have a server I have colo'd in a datacenter. I had recently upgraded the server, and did a backup of a VM and restored it on the newly built server...
Greetings,
I have an Overclocked Intel i7-7700 running at 4.9ghz. In the proxmox shell, it shows the correct clock speed but on a VM it is only showing 4.2ghz. I've asked this question a few times, but I'm trying to understand why a VM doesn't report the actual clock speed and 2), does it matter?
Greetings,
On the proxmox terminal, when I cat /proc/cpuinfo I see a clock mhz speed of 4340.648 but within a KVM host, I only see 3938.590
The CPU has a 4.4ghz Turboboost speed that it appears the KVM isn't accessing. Is there anyway to unlock that extra clock speed for the KVM to use?
Hi Wosp,
I appreciate your time answering.
I tried Host, in addition to Haswell. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get the VM to utilize the CPU's full clock or cache. It made a huge difference in an app I was hosting that is single core, so missing the clock speed and cache was painful...
All,
I have a Intel i7-4790K. In the shell of the debian/proxmox cat /proc/cpuinfo shows it as being 4.4ghz and a cache size 8192
However, when I create a VM, and do cat /proc/cpuinfo from within the VM it is reporting mhz 3.9 and a cache of only 4096
Is there anyway to utilize the CPU's full...
Hi Everyone.
I am setting up a new server with Proxmox, and I was curious to what everyone's opinions are on achieving the best possible SSD performance in Proxmox.
I do not need redundancy, as I will be copying important data onto a 1TB drive in the server for backups.
In the server I have...
All,
I had to do a hard-reboot of the server, never good.. I know..
now when I try and start the virtual machines in Proxmox, I am getting this error
"zpool import -d /dev/disk/by-id/ -a failed"
Any ideas on how to fix?
Is there a way with gdisk to list drives? My other issue, is I can't find the drive. It was present in the GUI install of Promox, but when I go through /dev/ i can't seem to find the second logical drive.
I deployed Proxmox on an HP Server with a raid controller.
When I installed Proxmox, it properly showed the Logical disks I had created in the RAID configurations. I selected the first logical disk for Proxmox to install on and I had another Logical disk consisting of 3x 300GB SAS drives...
Good Morning.
I hope there is a networking Guru browsing the forums this morning. I have an issue that I just can't resolve.
I have a proxmox deployment with 2x physical NICs.
NIC-1 eth0 (vmbr0) is attached to the internet and has been assigned a static address.
NIC-2 eth1 (vmbr1) is...
I understand.
I have 2 physical NICs.
NIC1 (eth0), WAN/Internet working OK with External Internet address.
NIC2 (eth1) is physically connected to a local switch where a few other servers sit. I want to configure the eth1 to access my local network on that NIC2, via local address (192.168.1.x)...
All,
I have a Debian CT deployed in Proxmox.
I have an external address assigned to eth0 (bridged) inside the CT. It connects to the internet, and I can SSH into the external address.
I have eth1 connected to a local switch with other physical servers on an internal network. I want to also...
