Thank you for this detailed reply Fabian, this is all very clear / sounds good. Can you comment on if these migrations are 'sparse file aware' (ie, if I move a VM or Container with a 250gig virtual disk allocated, which is only 10% full, and 90%...
With IPv4 set to DHCP and IPv6 set to SLAAC in Proxmox, my Debian 13 LXC containers have:
iface eth0 inet dhcp
iface eth0 inet6 auto
in their config.
The installed ifupdown2 3.0.0-1.3 reports “unsupported address method 'auto'”, but launches...
PDM cross-cluster migrations work pretty similar to regular intra-cluster migrations, but there are some differences.
intra-cluster:
- SSH used as control channel, SSH or plain TCP used for data transfer
- live migration of VMs possible, offline...
this is normal - if you do not delete the source as part of the migration, it will be left in a locked state to prevent accidental starts (it's usually not desired to have two identical instances of the same guest running in two places)...
Well, usually we are talking "clusters". And it is wishful thinking that all nodes are equal. In fact one advantage here is that the nodes may widely vary.
That dialog would need to limit the number of assigned cores to those of the smallest...
Hi everybody,
we just installed PMG in Production and are customizing the daily/weekly Spamreport mails for the users.
Therefore we copied the "/var/lib/pmg/templates/spamreport-verbose.tt" to "/var/lib/pmg/templates/spamreport-custom.tt" and...
I have not experienced this. I wasn't even aware it was a thing. All my Linux boxes use the MAC. Granted they are all very similar (debian with dhcpcd) and run against the same dhcp (kea) this at least proves you should be able to get it working...
Thank you. That did the trick.
I added this file to recreate the links on boot. /etc/tmpfiles.d/pve-links.conf
# save to /etc/tmpfiles.d/pve-links.conf

Mostly RGW. I'd like S3 alongside RBD.
Same for NFS-Ganesha because I have non-Proxmox machines I'd like to serve exports to.
The cephadm dashboard also covers those services, which saves me from juggling two partial views of the cluster.
My...
Probably yes (depending on the filesystem inside, and how badly corrupted the data is). It would look something like
mkdir /tmp/mnt
mount /dev/zvol/DATAPOOL-2/vm-100-disk-0-part1 /tmp/mnt -o ro
Don't use /mnt (It is likely that some storage...
I think a workaround might be possible via pfSense, I just looked and found the option Ignore Client Identifiers:
I have not test myself. just a thought
We use a SSD San for storage with iscsi so live migration is not an issue with promox (most of the time we didn't even see a ping loss and TCP sessions stay active).
It is not as fast as ESX but does the job adequately.
Reducing the fencedelay to...
Because on Linux, usually the machine ID is used to identify against the DHCP server. Windows usually takes the MAC address.
Lookup how you can prepare a Debian based system (which Proxmox VE is) to be a template. You usually need to empty the...
On the windows drive, the deduplication have been activate. . I didn't manage the instance so i didn't know that. That's explain the problem with the linux module for ntfs that didn't handle it.:(
Hi,
