virtio-rng

Given the fact that it is not exposed in the GUI, does that mean it's not important for the majority of users? I'm running a Windows guest.

Options that are not exposed in the GUI are usually advanced features that can easily cause problems when configured wrongly, or options which are so rarely needed/used that cluttering the GUI for them is not worth it. The "args: " option allows passing (almost) arbitrary options to Qemu, and as such is limited to the root user (which is the only one which can edit the config file manually).

I could have sworn I saw this in the gui recently but I cannot seem to find the option any more. @fireon do you still have this option in the GUI?

You can add this via the VM Hardware "Add" button.

is adding a virtio-rng still needed/useful with the changes made in linux kernel 5.18+?
