hey,

i am searching for an old backup of a vm but in the backup overview only the vm ids are listed.
i was hoping that i could find the right one by extracting the configs from the backups - but wehen i select a backup and click onto "show configuration" i get an
Code:
Method 'GET /nodes/pve02/vzdump/extractconfig' not implemented (501)

is there a way to find the machine names in the backup files anyway?

Hi,
you can use pvesm extractconfig

can you please post the output of
Code:
pveversion -v

here is the output:
Code:
proxmox-ve: 4.2-51 (running kernel: 4.4.8-1-pve)
pve-manager: 4.2-5 (running version: 4.2-5/7cf09667)
pve-kernel-4.4.6-1-pve: 4.4.6-48
pve-kernel-4.4.8-1-pve: 4.4.8-52
lvm2: 2.02.116-pve2
corosync-pve: 2.3.5-2
libqb0: 1.0-1
pve-cluster: 4.0-42
qemu-server: 4.0-81
pve-firmware: 1.1-8
libpve-common-perl: 4.0-68
libpve-access-control: 4.0-16
libpve-storage-perl: 4.0-55
pve-libspice-server1: 0.12.5-2
vncterm: 1.2-1
pve-qemu-kvm: 2.5-19
pve-container: 1.0-68
pve-firewall: 2.0-29
pve-ha-manager: 1.0-32
ksm-control-daemon: 1.2-1
glusterfs-client: 3.5.2-2+deb8u2
lxc-pve: 1.1.5-7
lxcfs: 2.0.0-pve2
cgmanager: 0.39-pve1
criu: 1.6.0-1
zfsutils: 0.6.5-pve9~jessie

where do you get the "show configuration" button? (maybe post a screenshot?)
this feature is only in since pve-manager 4.2-15 (you have 4.2-5)
and the extractconfig api call exists since pve-manager 4.2-11

so the output is correct, that it is not implemented (your version is too old)
but it is not normal that you have the button

This is funny - the button wasn't there anymore - when you asked - but today it is again...?!?
So i clicked on the machine that i was searching the right backup for (btw. it would be nice to have a row in the backup overview with the "name" of the machine the backup was created from).
than i clicked on the backups tab and clicked on the designated backup file - than there is that "view config" button...

there i get this error:

please upgrade all the nodes the the current version - requests are forwarded to the responsible node internally, but the GUI comes from the node that you are connecting to in the browser. if a new API endpoint is added and integrated into the GUI and you only upgrade some of the nodes, the upgraded nodes will have the new endpoint, the old ones won't.
