System hanging after upgrade...NIC driver?

I have proxmox version pve-manager/8.1.3/b46aac3b42da5d15 (running kernel: 6.5.11-4-pve) and have the following network card Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller.

lsmod|grep 816 gives:
r8169

The question is, has the problem been resolved in this proxmox version? And otherwise how do I get the correct driver installed? Because I keep getting the message with apt install r8168-dkms that I have an incorrect kernel version

Just read this thread and remove the dkms package and use the one which comes with the kernel. For me all works fine now .

I followed this guide with success:

I've been struggling for a while to make proxmox-boot-tool behave as such on my system (thread) only to discover that when I finally managed to fix my boot to (6.8.12-4-pve) my system network becomes completely unstable. In my case this is causing network disconnections every couple of minutes.

07:00.1 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 1a)

After reading this and other long threads I was in the understanding that a year ago this was sorted on a previous kernel, but this in not my case (with 6.8.12-4-pve at least) so trying to figure out if and how I should try to update the cards driver.

Additionally, we are in the middle of a migration/reinstall of the system, so wondering if I can also add a previous stable kernel (currently using 5.15.158-2) to my new PVE 8.2 installation in case similar issues come up.

thanks.

As an update, we've just realised that the issue is not with our Realtek card. The motherboard has two cards and the one disconnecting constantly after the kernel upgrade is an:

06:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation I211 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 03)
