Hello,

We have a backup schedule for PBS that run at 23:00 EST everyday. The issue we have is that the naming scheme for the snapshot seems to be built using a different timezone.

An exemple would be if we backup a VM the 21 of May at 23:00 EST, the snapshot name would be 22 of May 3:00

This is pretty confusing. Is there a way to change that ?

Here is a screenshot of what I mean

The timezone is also correctly set in PBS

Thanks

Very confusing. Especially when you delegate list and download rights to some low qualified users, so they can't find the proper backup.

no, for uniqueness, the snapshot time shown in the id is always UTC in iso format
that is the reason why there is a separate column with the local time stamp of that backup

The time in snapshot list is using ISO8601 format.
The Z suffix in the ISO 8601 time representation is sometimes referred to as "Zulu time" because the same letter is used to designate the Zulu time zone.

Date and time is historicaly very complex theme... sometimes for the uniqueness I used UNIX Epoch time format (plain seconds from 1970.01.01 00:00:00), but IMHO it's better to make the names configurable, because of rare case of moving PBS to another timezone, and ever daylight saving is used not everywhere.
