Restore only one VHD.

Hello everybody,

I wanted to restore only a VHD that was damaged after a fall of light in my personal lab.
What would be the procedure for this?
I don't see an option that allows me to do this.

You mean one virtual disk, one of several?

What would be the procedure for this?

1. create another backup copy - just in case...!
2. remove the outdated disk-to-be-restored from the old machine - this frees up space
3. Restore the backup to a new and unused <vmid>, temporarily
4. move the restored disk from the temporary <vmid> to the old machine: <vmid> --> Hardware --> Hard Disk --> "Disc Action = Reassign Owner" in the drop down menu at the top
5. probably you get an "Unused Disk" in the destination VM this way - double click on it to connect it
6. remove remaining parts of <vmid>
