Hello,

This request fpr help on keeping two vm synchronised between a proxmox server and a laptop VM is about the following situation.

Curious to learn what you are thinking

A VM is used on a laptop during off-net tasks, in order to have some redundancy it would be of interest to also have this VM availble on the proxmox server in -house. Now i'm looking for ways to synchronise between the VM where the most recent changes should be synchronised between either. I don't seek to sync the contents of the VM but the entire VM disk image. At least that's what i'm thinking for now.

The laptop is running KVM with virt-manager but not proxmox to avoid additional overhead and other complexities.

Best Regards,

JL

Hmm, you could somehow sync the disk image back and forth. What OS is running in the VM? Because the hardware as the VM sees it will most likely be slightly different between it being started by PVE and virt-manager. That can have an effect on the NIC and potential manually configured network settings and such.
