Good day all,

In the process of upgrading a pve 5 cluster to pve 6 (better late than never). After the corosync upgrade to 3 with all cluster nodes still on pve 5 and online with quorum there was a netwok issue on one of the nodes. All VMs became unreachable for a minute or two and then came back online. All other nodes were fine.

Looking at the logs there are no obvious reasons. However right before the event there is this message:

pve-firewall[2957]: restarting server after 181481 cycles to reduce memory usage (free 86581248 (5246976) bytes)

Has anyone seen this message before and could it be a reason for network connectivity issues?

I am totally aware that pve 5 is eol and in the process of upgrading but would appreciate any feedback.

The message is normal (as much as working around perl bugs is "normal"). I'm not sure if that could be responsible for a network dropout, but considering you said the dropout was for "a minute or two" I somewhat doubt it? The restart should finish within a few seconds at most.

Anyway, since this is a PVE 5 node, there's not much more to say other than go ahead with the upgrade and see if you still encounter any problems :)
