I was curious to know if Proxmox had a built-in method of doing password expiry for user accounts that are not `root`? I was hoping to make it so the password would expire every 90 days, similar to the `chage` command. I am pretty sure if you use PAM authentication instead of PVE Authentication, you can then use the chage command to do this, but I was curious what PAM authentication would also come with? I don't want these users having SSH, homedirs, or even a UID really... These are purely WebUI access.

Do you have a copy of said current recommendations for password verification? I have never seen anything like this before.
See e.g. NIST SP 800-63B Section 5.1.1.2 paragraph 9, or the short version at the relevant FAQ entry: Q-B05: Is password expiration no longer recommended?
