it looks fine, the additional kernel is no issue. but you can safely remove it, just run:

Code:
aptitude remove pve-kernel-2.6.32-4-pve

Hi, good news...the 2v is closer.

- Which function is "support 'maxfiles' backup option"?
- run pre-restart hook after snapshot?
- improvements on kvm ?

- maxfiles: defines how many backups to keep (before you needed to add this parameter in /etc/vzdump.conf, now on GUI)
- hook scripts are only for special use cases
- KVM: see 0.15 release notes, http://wiki.qemu.org/ChangeLog/0.15

Thank you for great product.

For some reason KSM is not mention in the roadmap page.
Can someone please confirm that KSM is working out of the box in 1.9.

Many thanks.

KSM is fixed with the new kernel, and yes it works out of the box. but as always, you need to wait some time to see results, see also http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/KSM

Thanks for the update. I updated my lab system last night and all went well except Linix Mint 11 stopped working. I had it running on KVM. Now it won't start.
This is not a big deal to me, but I thought I'd report it. Should I do some trouble shooting or just reinstall?
Thanks.

-Bob

do you have any details, error messages? linux mint 11 is not involved in our test cases - but I just download it now.

Hi,

for some reason i don't understand KSM is not working for me.

Here my pveversion -v

pve-manager: 1.9-24 (pve-manager/1.9/6542)
running kernel: 2.6.32-6-pve
proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 1.9-43
pve-kernel-2.6.32-4-pve: 2.6.32-33
pve-kernel-2.6.32-6-pve: 2.6.32-43
qemu-server: 1.1-32
pve-firmware: 1.0-13
libpve-storage-perl: 1.0-19
vncterm: 0.9-2
vzctl: 3.0.28-1pve5
vzdump: 1.2-15
vzprocps: 2.0.11-2
vzquota: 3.0.11-1
pve-qemu-kvm: 0.15.0-1
ksm-control-daemon: 1.0-6

There are 5 Windows Server 2008R2 running on this Host. Memory used is around 80-90%.
But pages_shared and pages_sharing shows me 0 even after waiting several hours.

Echoing 1 into /sys/kernel/mm/ksm/run sadly didn't change anything, although ksmtuned seems to be running.

Could you please provide some help? I'm very eager to use this nice feature :)
Thanks in advance

The output is:

#free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 24621580 19911568 4710012 0 20932 721824
-/+ buffers/cache: 19168812 5452768
Swap: 24117240 0 24117240

Our Proxmox servers are in an isolated network with no external access - presumably I can point aptitude to a local repository but where can I get the actual packages to download? If anybody has a step by step and has done this, I would be very grateful....

Hello,

With this new update to 1.9 and downgrading kernel from 2.6.35 to 2.6.32-6, OCFS2 is NOT working!!

# /etc/init.d/o2cb enable | start
Writing O2CB configuration: OK
Loading filesystem "ocfs2_dlmfs": Unable to load filesystem "ocfs2_dlmfs"
Failed

# locate -i ocfs2_dlmfs
/lib/modules/2.6.32-4-pve/kernel/fs/ocfs2/dlm/ocfs2_dlmfs.ko

Seems that there is not module for the running kernel.

And after triying to compile from ocfs2-1.4.7.tar.gz:

The RHEL6 based kernel does not include ocfs2, redhat believes in gfs2. but both cluster file systems are not used in Proxmox VE.
