Proxmox only with CEPH

Hello,
I decided to use the functionality of proxmox to support only CEPH without any VE for RBD block. I installed the "Proxmox Virtual Environment" option for that experiment.
I notice that the system run a lot of things responsible for e.g. VE replication (pvest).

What do you recommend to keep Proxmox functionality but disable everything unnecessary? (in meaning there is no any VE, and system are installed on sigle disk with ext4 )

Hi,
I'm not quite sure I follow. Are you trying to set up Proxmox VE just to make use of its Ceph management interface? If this is the case, note that Ceph also has its own web-based management interface [1].

Yep, i know that CEPH have self dashboard.
And looking through it a bit, I notice a few differences in favor of proxmox

Not trying, but I made a CEPH cluster using Proxmox VE only to support it without any VMs. Only what annoyed me is this proxmox mechanisms to support VM, which start despite there has no VEs (and never will).
I would like to turn it all off, but I don't know what it depends on..

Okay, as long as you're happy with using Proxmox VE, I won't stop you
But I wouldn't advise disabling other parts of Proxmox VE, as these shouldn't really interfere with anything or lead to any noticeable resource usage, and disabling them could lead to some unexpected behavior. Furthermore, most of the services are for the Proxmox VE host, rather than to support virtualization in any way.
One annoyance you may face is the partitioning of the root disk, because a large part is left empty (for VM data). The installer partitions the disks automatically, and there is a limit on the maximum root partition size, but you can probably get around this by installing on top of Debian [1].
