Hi,

Due to internet issues with my old node and being unable/frustrating to fix it, if reinstalled proxmox via usb.
Now I was planning on recreating a vm but when I went to disks -> LVM I saw my disk was still almost full (as before the issues), its a external harddrive.

My questions:

- Is there a way to recreate my old vm's with the storage so I can get it all back?
- May anyone be able to tell me what "number of LVs" is also?

I'm a total noob, so please explain it easily.

Thnx in advanced

Looks like LVM was used on the disk? You should be able to create a new storage configuration in Datacenter -> Storage.

First run lvs on the command line and post the output here, so we can check what's going on :)

I'm not 100% sure about your first question but I think I used LVM as my "disk" types for my vm's yes.
This is the output for lvs

You should be able to configure a new LVM storage directly in the Datacenter -> Storage panel and select the Data-Storage Volume group for it.

The configs for the VMs will be gone though. So you will need to recreate the VMs. The simplest approach would probably be to recreate the VMs with the "Create VM" wizard and choose a very small size for the disk because you will remove the automatically created disk. Then you can run qm rescan on the CLI to scan for existing disks matching the VMID in the vm-<VMID>disk-X name. Then you can reattach the disks and with a bit of luck they should boot up nicely :)

Oh my, you saved my life! It worked and it saved SO much time! Thnx!

I'm not sure if I can ask in here or If I need to create a new post but thnx to this I also saved my old "C" drive but it created a new one while installing windows. Can I delete the disk and clear the space it used in Data-Storage so that I regain the space? Hope you understand what I mean
