Proxmox 8 freeze and error message

Hi all,
I have a strange behavior on my Proxmox VE. The whole system freeze after some time of "idle", meaning I do not interact with it, but my VMs are still running. Sometimes after 1 hour sometimes after 24 hours. I am not really able to find the issue in the logs most probably because I didn't know where to search. Also, I made the experience that the real cause is not written to the journal it's only visible on the screen if I let journalclt -f run the whole time.

I already did an update of the BIOS.

My System:
Minisforum NPB7 Venus
Intel Core i7-13700H
64 GB Ram
2 TB NVME SSD
4TB Sata SSD

root@proxmox:~# pveversion pve-manager/8.0.3/bbf3993334bfa916 (running kernel: 6.2.16-3-pve)

Last Error Message from the LCD Screen which didnt show up in the journal:

I am new to this topic but for me, it looks like there is an issue with the Kernel and the NVME drive. Maybe someone else can give me some advice if I am right and what I can do to fix it.

I would also post the journal here if this would help.

I would personally return this thing and never buy any minisforum product.

But if you can't, well you need to google then, many people have similar issues and reddit is full of such posts :-(

Thank you for the info. I didn't take a look at topics on the NPB7 itself, because I thought it was an issue with Proxmox. No good news, but good to know. :(

Yeah sadly :-(
As far i got, the most common thing is somewhat the memory. Something like it has troubles to handle 64gb :-(
But that's just a guess and no one is sure.

Tbh, if i can recommend, the NUC13ANHi5 is pricewise a budget king and allows with the nucioaluws a second i226-lm port that's bound via pcie.
I run myself an 13th i3 an 13th i5 and an 11th i3, and tbh blown away how smooth they run, with absolutely 0 dmesg errors and warnings.

All my other nodes with ryzen or any other intels always had errors or dozen more warnings.

And if you have more as one nuc, you can do an 20gbs fdx thunderbolt network between them.

But if you're stuck with the minis forum, well hopefully they release some bios fixes :-(

Thanks for your recommendation. I already take a look and luckily I am able to return it until tomorrow. So the package will leave me today, back to amazon ;)

I didn't know the nucioaluws until now. The 2x 2.5 Ethernet ports were one of the main reasons to buy the minis forum, instead of something else.

I know, almost no one knows about it, that's why i mentioned it especially:)
it's compatible with all "ANH" models from 8th to 13th gen.

Here is another thread with bios settings, just in case.
https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/nuc13-pve8-switching-from-grub-to-proxmox-boot-tool.129737/
I don't know what the other guy had issues with tbh, he just said he was stuck in grub...
But idk if he stuck in grub with the installer or the installed system, dunno...
However, i can lay almost my hand into fire that this was some weird user issue, like a bad stick or early proxmox image or whatever, dunno.
I just can say, im almost happyer with my small nuc as with my big and ultra expensive main proxmox server :)
