Problem with resized Disk, revert Changes

Hi, today i wanted to give 50GB more Space over Proxmox GUI to a Qcow2 VM.
I had 250 and entered 300Gb by mistake. (German translation in my opinion of that Input Field Label was not so good)
Now my Proxmox VM shows me 550GB ... The Node has only 450GB NVMe SSD.
i didn't changed anything yet, at VM Shell. Just want to know how to revert that in order to set the Hardrive to 300GB in Total to proceed with

# lvextend --resizefs -l +100%FREE /dev/cloudlinux/root ...........

and so on ......

System: Proxmox Virtual Environment 5.4-6

i would first make a backup of your vm (in case something goes wrong),
then try to reduce the size of the disk with 'qemu-img' (when the vm is off)

Do you have any detailed Instructions for that? Reducing Image?
at the moment still its just resized over Proxmox, nothing more. I didn't changed the VM / Linux space inside of VM. So i guess i don't need to change anything on VM Level?
I only find docs for resizing for MORE space, but nothing to reduce in case of mistake.
How long would such task take?
I need to run those commands in the main Node of VM right?

no should not be necessary

check the man page of qemu-img via 'man qemu-img'

as i said before, make sure you have a backup of your data just in case

you need to resize it on a node which has access to the disk, when the vm is OFF
do not try to reduce it while the vm is running
