Hello everyone,

I have been using Proxmox on my 2-node homelab for a while now, but one of my nodes keeps disconnecting from the network entirely. It seems to happen randomly after a couple of hours, and I haven't been able to find a good reason why it would. I have two nics in my PC, and both have this issue. Currently using the 2.5G Intel I225-V NIC. To me, it sounds like it might be some idle power-saving measure, but haven't been able to find something about it anywhere.

Here a couple of specs about the system:
Minisforum HM80
Intel I225-V NIC
16 x AMD Ryzen 7 4800U with Radeon Graphics (1 Socket)
Linux 6.8.12-16-pve (2025-10-14T08:58Z
pve-manager/8.4.14/b502d23c55afcba1

Any help is appreciated

I can't give you a direct answer other than the fact I have a Minisforum UM560xt and I'm seeing the same thing. The weird thing about it though is that it will disconnect SSH sessions for the PM host, but the VMs work just fine. As a test, I tried to download a 3GB image via wget on the host, and it fails about 50% through all the time. But if I spin up a Rocky Linux 10 VM and do it from there, no problems. I even wrote a script to cycle through the download 10x on the VM, and no issues at all. Really weird. The VM just has a virtualized NIC that I would have thought would be passed through from the host, but it seems the Debian drivers on the host are not optimal, but in the VM they seem to be just fine. Go figure.
