Hello kind community,

I have been trying to setup a mount point for an unprivileged LXC container.

Here is my configuration :

/etc/subgid
Code:
root:1001:1

Code:
root@proxmox:~# ls -lrt /mnt/
total 8
drwxrwxrwx 8 1001 101001 4096 Feb 1 18:11 downloads

Code:
root@proxmox:~# ls -lrt /mnt/
total 8
drwxrwxrwx 8 1001 101001 4096 Feb 1 18:11 downloads

/etc/pve/lxc/106.conf
Code:
...
mp0: /mnt/data,mp=/data
mp1: /mnt/downloads,mp=/downloads
...
unprivileged: 1
lxc.idmap: u 0 100000 1000
lxc.idmap: g 0 100000 1000
lxc.idmap: u 1001 1001 1
lxc.idmap: g 1001 1001 1
lxc.idmap: u 1002 101002 64534
lxc.idmap: g 1002 101002 64534

Here "media" group = 1001 in the container.
Code:
ls -lrt /var/lib/lxc/106/rootfs/downloads/
total 12
drwxrwxrwx 2 1001 media 4096 Jan 13 13:05 <>
drwxrwxrwx 3 1001 media 4096 Feb 3 11:30 <>
drwxrwxrwx 3 1001 media 4096 Feb 3 11:33 <>

I am not entirely sure my configuration is appropriate, especially having 101001 permissions on the host. Especially because the configuration was working a few days ago and everything went bad following a reboot... It is still a work in progress so no back-ups for now.

I am trying to make the configuration working and then I will create a snapshot. Guide I used : https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Unprivileged_LXC_containers.

Help and guidance appreciated.

Thanks!

What kind of errors did you get when you started the container? Also, what version of PVE do you have?
