Hello,

I try to setup an iscsi target with zfs for using the snapshot backup for lxc.

I've a freenas with an iscsi target already setup. I'm able to connect as an iscsi target or zfs over iscsi storage but I'm not able to store lxc CT into this storage, there is a way to do that ?

My configuration :

You need to select 'Containers' as possible storage content. But Container backups does not work fully on that storage type (we found no way to export snapshots over iSCSI,).

Thank you for your reply,

So If I want to use the snapshot mode, how can I do/use with my remote storage (possibility are : cifs/nfs/iscsi) ?

PS : I can't select 'Containers' with zfs over isci, or iscsi target.

If I do this : add a target iscsi + add lvm group, I'm able to add and use the Containers mode with the iscsi target.

Yes, you are right - that is still not enabled (sorry). So currently ceph is the only shared storage which provides full featured containers.

I've found a workaround :

Create an iscsi target and manually create a zfs pool by disk uid.

But unfortunately I've some trouble with the iscsi mount. (Call trace etc..)
So Actually I use nfs, but i'm not able to make backup with snapshot :-/.
