I'm lost, please help

Just after successfully setting up a docker LXC as a cloudflare host for remote access, I seem to have caused some issue with the usb recognition on my host system. I am not sure if this issue is due to the LXC, but I know it was something I did today.

Some investigation I've done included other threads but none of their suggestions were helpful. I am pretty new to linux (only about 1-2 years experience).

- when in doubt, restart the system : no change
- full power cycle with 1 minute dwell : no change
- extract + insert + extract USB devices in all ports : no change (even in dmesg -w)
- HDMI & Ethernet are unaffected
- lsusb t: empty
- lsmod | grep usb : empty
- dmesg | grep -i usb :
[ 0.009805] ACPI: SSDT 0x0000000078C6B000 00190A (v02 ALASKA UsbCTabl 00001000 INTL 20200717)

- lspci -k | grep -A 3 -i usb :

- No devices previously used successfully are working currently. I had 1 usb stick and two bluetooth dongles.
- An apt update and upgrade (quite substantial) was executed. Though I was only on the previous version of proxmox.
- system is completely up to date
- All kernel CONFIG_USB are active and nominal (to my best understanding)
- I have previously successfully implemented GPU passthrough using IOMMU. This included some initialization of virtio modules, i think.
- The USB ports all have power
- The USB ports work in bios just fine.

Hi, I have the same problem here. I didn’t even need to set up docker LXC, proxmox just doesn’t detect some drives for me. I tried my Logitech mouse dongle, that worked, but when I tried an USB stick, proxmox just didn’t detect it at all. Tried lsusb, mouse dongle got detected, the usb did not. Did you find any solution to this? Thanks

could you post the complete output of 'dmesg' and 'lspci -nnk' ?
did you recently boot into a new kernel? what happens if you try to boot an older kernel on boot?

Hi, Thanks for the fast reply. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to access the server at that moment, but heres the stuff you requested. I just rebooted the server, tried the usbs, nothing fixed itself unfortunately :D. I know you asked for complete, but it doesnt let me post it all here, cuz its too long if its really needed I can share it later as a document in a link . For some reason the dmesg only shows the usb mouse I tested that worked, I also tried connecting the USB drive, but I can't seem to find it in the log. Im kind of newbie here, maybe I just overlooked something. But Im 100percent sure the port works and everything, cuz I also tried a USB hdd that spun up and also the led on it lit up. Both the hdd and the usb drive should be somewhere in there, I tested those the same time as the usb mouse (thats the logitech stuff there).

somehow, just out of nowhere, when I was trying something to do with this, I got it to atleast partly detect . I did 1. plugged the drive in, 2. plugged the usbmouse in, 3. unplugged the usbmouse, 4. the drive showed in dmesg, then it seems like it errored out or something, dmesg says disconnected, but i didnt unplug it so. Heres the part of it from "dmesg"

I tried some stuff, hoping itll help. Well it did not, but somehow one of my flash drives is getting detected and seems to be working fine. Could that be the drives problem? They both work on my windows 11 machine, and both use FAT32.
