Hello All,

I have installed Proxmox VE 5.1.3. I have created 4 other VE servers and clustered successfully. But when I try to do the live migration, It fails. The following is the error code I get

2018-01-15 21:19:34 starting migration of VM 101 to node 'r3' (10.10.5.1)

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your reply. So, If I configure an NFS storage for all the nodes in a common manner, Will the live migration work then?

Yes, if you have your virtual disks on NFS, live migration will work.

As snapshots are not supported in NFS
Is supported, but i've read that sometimes if you rollback a snapshot, that qcow2 are damaged... so maybe NFS and snapshots is not the best idea.

Local ZFS and local LVM-Thin Snapshots are fast and stable.

Please note, it is the local DVD, mounted as 'local:iso/CentOS-7-x86_64-Minimal-1708.iso' that is the blocking factor, just unmount it inside the guest, and then remove it from the Hardware->CD/DVD settings in the Proxmox controle center.
Then it should be possible to migrate.

Or at lease, if you are dooing from in a console on the host (and not the graphical interface in proxmox). Here, I am migrating guest108 from the console on server9 to server8:
qm migrate 108 server8 --online --with-local-disks --migration_type insecure

Hello Nisv,

Does that command really work? Because in that command the source and destination is not mentioned

In NiSv's example 108 is the vm number from which the source can be derived, and server8 is the name of the destination server.
