I'm a relatively new to Proxmox still, even if I've had it deployed for 2 years. But I'm setting up a new machine at my sister's to act as a NAS, CCTV NVR, Photo backup, etc, I currently have my NAS standalone at home, so that's why I'm in the dark with this one.
Would it be worth while setting up an OpenWRT (or other) LXC to route traffic internally from Frigate, Immich, and anything else that needs bulk storage, to TrueNAS? Why am I asking?
Well at my sister's due the ISP and them having a landline phone which needs the ISP router to function, I'm forced to route all traffic through that router, no bridge mode available on it, and the router will be next to the phone, and the network and PVE kit will be in the garage, the switch is currently only 1Gbe.
So I'm thinking, particularly with CCTV recordings, is it worth adding a little more complexity to remove that data from round tripping to the router and back?
