Hello. I'm newby in proxmox and need some consultation.
I have fresh server with hardware raid controller LSI Megaraid and configured raid10 with 4x3Tb SATA.
I want to install debian and over it - proxmox. How to right partition must be when i setup debian? Do i need LVM volume for my virtual machines or just simple ext4 partition if I use hardware raid10? thank for the answer.

If you use the Proxmox ISO-Installer you have nothing to do, everything goes automaticly. Maybe turning the setup wizard you would like to change some filesystem or rootfilesytemsize. Normaly PVE create an LVM-Thin store.

But I have read some topics about LVM, where was full of space datastore with wrong alignment 4k hdd or etc... And other info about write cache of hw raid and LVM over it. Maybe somebody have real practice with proxmox on HW Raid without BBU?

I don't have any alignment on LVM for all my servers, and currently dont have any problems with them.
If you're scared about corruption, get an ups and configure apcupsd to shutdown everytime you have electricity problem.
