Not sure if anyone has done this already (because I haven't looked) but here is a one-liner I use after I install Proxmox on my servers.
It does 4 things.
1) places pve-no-subscription in the /etc/apt/sources.list file
2) comments out the pve-enterprise.list
3) apt update && apt...
I usually use the ISO to install Proxmox but it's very wasteful of drive space where it will automatically allocate about 100 GB to the local storage. Is there a way to tell Proxmox not to use that much space or do you have to install the OS First and then add Proxmox?
If you have to install...

I'm attempting to install Proxmox for testing on an old Dell workstation. I've got a GT 620 and a GT 1030 installed. The installer threw this error with both cards installed as described in this thread:
Quick question - when installing Proxmox, you are presented the option of choosing which disk to install it on and some advanced configuration options (i.e. hdsize, swap file size, etc.)
if I am installing Proxmox on a device with two drives (a 500GB drive and a 1TB drive) and am...
I'm attempting to resurrect an old PC and dip my toes into the Proxmox waters. I've run into a snag at the very beginning of this and have tried several solutions to no avail.
Immediately after the 'Loading initial ramdisk ...' message the screen goes black and nothing happens.
I'm new to Proxmox, ZFS, and Linux so I'm setting up a test rig to play around a bit and see if I like it. I've got 3 different sized spare disks: 320 GB x 2 (different manufacturers) and 500GB that I'd like to use just to play with, ideally in RAID-Z1. I'm happy that I'd only get the...

Hi guys, I have installed the latest release on a 2nd system that I would like to use as a backup.
Installation didn't go really smooth on the system itself so took the HDD out to install PVE with another system.
That went fine, move the HDD, changed the network config and was good to go...
I'm new to proxmox.
I installed the default regular way. When I logged in to the web gui I see local and local-lvm under the pve node.
When I click the "initialize Disk with GPT" option it works for all disk except for the Samsung 970 Evo nvme SSD which fails with exit code 2.

I have tested out Proxmox (most recent release) using nested virtualization and now want to test it on a physical node: a Dell R630 server which has a SATA and 2 SAS drives installed. I create a bootable iso on a USB drive (DD mode) and booted to this and then selected the option to install but...

Now, after a few quite critical almost-showstoppers (like corrupted VMs, cutting me off with bond-config, cron.d...
