HowTo: Install Proxmox Mail Gateway on OpenVZ

Hi atasever,

Did you ever get this sorted? I've tried both 2.2 and 2.3 openVZ downloads with exactly the same problem as yourself.

System is all installed, can ssh into vm, but cannot log into the web interface.

ERROR: strange VPS ID '8'

It looks like vzdump insists that VPSID not less than 100. WHY? All my VEs has ID<100. How can I use vzdump?

you should not use container with CTID < 100.

see OpenVZ docu: 'man vzctl'

Code: 
Containers can be referred to by either numeric CTID or  by  name  (see
       --name option). Note that CT ID <= 100 are reserved for OpenVZ internal purposes.

can login using ssh but web login fails
New 1.1 install with appliance template debian-4.0-proxmox-mailgateway_2.2-1_i386.tar.gz
also I tried the CYAN secure web and no reponse through port 9992
not off to a good start! :rolleyes:

pls do not use non-asci character for passwords.

Proxmox Mail Gateway: pls use the 2.3 version!

CYAN: pls check the log, do you got enough memory (512 + 512)?
btw, a new cyan appliance is on the way to release soon.

logs show

I had to manually type the above as it won't let me cut and paste from the log window!!!?? :mad:

PS ssh works ok!!!

just to make sure: you use 'root' as user and '12345' as password?

and this combination works on ssh, but not on the web interface? very strange. take a look on the complete syslog of the mail gateway (see /var/log/syslog).

I just installed the latest Proxmox Mail Gateway from the template and have the same problem: no matter what password I choose I can login through SSH but not through the web access. I have tried both IE and Firerfox. Really this is a very annoying bug. Please advice.

We can't reproduced the bug here. Unfortunately, so far nobody gives use ssh access to debug it.

Please contact support@proxmox.com directly if you are willing to debug (and give use ssh access).
