High swap usage,alot of free RAM

Hey,
I've been using Proxmox for a while now, and I'm very happy with it.

The only major issue I could not solve so far with the manual is the swap usage.

I'm using an NFS share for storage, and the KVM processes seem to use quite a bunch of swap, even trough there is plenty of RAM to use.


The whole system is running 20~ vm's.

free -h outputs:


total used free shared buff/cache available
Mem: 251Gi 85Gi 37Gi 95Mi 128Gi 164Gi
Swap: 8.0Gi 8.0Gi 3.0Mi


Is there any way to solve this?

Is this an issue cause NFS is a file storage and not block storage?

Used swap even if a lot of memory is free being a problem is a common misconception. Have a look at this article which explains it quite well why swap is used even if there is plenty of RAM available: https://chrisdown.name/2018/01/02/in-defence-of-swap.html
