I'm new to Proxmox and used the https://nodetwelve.com/add-storage-drive-to-proxmox-7 guide to add an external SSD disc to the Proxmox server. After a period of time, the SSD becomes a read-only file system, which prevents me from booting the LXC container. I removed that mount point and formatted the SSD After some time passed, this happened again; now I need a permanent solution.

hi,

After a period of time, the SSD becomes a read-only file system, which prevents me from booting the LXC container.
sounds like the drive is being remounted as read-only because of a filesystem or disk error.

After some time passed, this happened again; now I need a permanent solution.
to be sure you can run smartctl -a /dev/yourssd to check for any disk errors.
the permanent solution (in case of a faulty disk) would be to replace the drive :)

also i would try to take a backup of the disk while you still can ;)
