Error pfsense freebsd

we just uploaded a fix (new seabios) for the issue to our pvetest repository. if you do not want to switch to pvetest, you can download the package manually and install it with:

Code:
wget http://download.proxmox.com/debian/dists/squeeze/pvetest/binary-amd64/pve-qemu-kvm_1.4-7_amd64.deb

dpkg -i pve-qemu-kvm_1.4-7_amd64.deb

pls test and give feedback.

Thanks, this solution worked for me to. (Running pfsense as a guest on a proxmox host for testing purposes)

I have Dell R210 II with E3-1240 V2 x64 CPU and 12GB of RAM for pfSense 2.1 64-bit VM, because I need to install a powerful filter, IDS, email forwarder, DNS Server, etc, etc, I don't want to suffer the limitations of x32 OS, VMWare ESXi 5.0 can do this, I think Proxmox too, I need a convincing answer!

I have been using Pfsense 2.0.3 then 2.1 as a VM on Proxmox for over two years now, with no issues! the only thing I recommend doing is making sure you disable "Devices polling" Under System: Advanced: Networking and disable all the "Hardware checksums offloading" as well. You could try but I have not tired to assign physical networks cards to a VM. I think it would work though. BTW I'm also using the virtual nic interfaces and balloon memory.

mackpaul1967, you can post your hardware and options configuration in proxmox for the pfSense 2.1 64-bit VM? In my proxmox only boot with KVM Hardware Virtualization in off, 32-bit ISOs boot without problems, my CPU is Xeon E3-1240 V2 in Dell PowerEdge R210 II and VT is enable in BIOS. Look at the pic, it pass the menu and stop.:(

Hi all, I just installed Proxmox VE 3.1 on a Gigabyte GA-G31M motherboard with a Core2Duo E6320 and 2Gb of RAM, then I installed a VM with pfSense 2.1 64-bit and everything works perfectly.
Tested, Dell PowerEdge R210 II with E3-1240.V2 and Proxmox VE 3.1 has problems with installing pfSense 2.1 64-bit.
The BIOS version is old, I'll try to update tomorrow and then comment, if anyone know this problem, please comment!
Regards,
Asem

I updated the BIOS and the same problem, pfSense 2.1 64-bit freeze at menu on boot, I've tried every possible way.
Dell PowerEdge R210 II CPU:E3-1240.V2 with Proxmox VE 3.1 is the problem, in many other systems work Ok, waiting a patch for this issue!
