Does zfs-zed need any additional configuration?

Hi,

if you set the email address and the zed service is running it will work.

Could the wiki be amended a bit? I believe it's not publicly editable, is it?

I'd replace:

To activate the daemon it is necessary to edit /etc/zfs/zed.d/zed.rc with your favourite editor, and uncomment the ZED_EMAIL_ADDR setting:

ZED_EMAIL_ADDR="root"

Please note Proxmox VE forwards mails to root to the email address configured for the root user.
Important The only setting that is required is ZED_EMAIL_ADDR. All other settings are optional.

With something like "By default zed is configured to send emails to the root user and Proxmox VE forwards mails to root to the email address configured for the root user, so if Proxmox VE can send emails automatically, zed messages will be automatically delivered to the root user's email address".

It would clear things up a bit.

Hi,
it's already enabled by default if you installed with a Proxmox VE ISO >= 6.1. The documentation was just outdated, I sent a patch. However, there was an issue in ZFS where some events would not trigger a notification, but if you upgrade to the latest version in Proxmox VE 7, the fix for that should be included too.
