I have 6 nodes in my Proxmox cluster connected over OpenVPN through pfSense. The nodes are located in different locations except Node1 and Node2. Nowadays few nodes come and go offline. Sometimes I have to restart the OpenVPN server to make the nodes back online on the cluster.

Im using Proxmox 7.3-3

My tunnel network is 25.25.25.0/24.

Node1 - 192.168.10.8 - Master

Node2 - 192.168.10.9

Node3 - 192.168.5.11

Node4 - 192.168.6.11

Node5 - 192.168.7.11

Node6 - 192168.8.11

Now I can’t make node3-6 online and I’m not able to start or stop VMs from the cluster or nodes. I can connect to the nodes individually but can’t do anything.

I can ping with hostname or IP from any node to any node connecting to the node through putty

Errors are

  • noVNC – “failed to connect to server”
  • shell - failed waiting for client: timed out
  • TASK ERROR: “command '/usr/bin/termproxy 5900 --path /nodes/nde-04 --perm Sys.Console -- /bin/login -f root' failed: exit code”
  • From other nodes – “Connection error 595: Connection timed out.”
