So the story goes, I have been using Proxmox on my IBM X3200 M3 with LSI ServeRAID M5014 and a single 1tb hard drive plus 32gb ram. It has been running amazing for the past year(Hats off to Proxmox!), so I decided to muster my courage and grabbed another server (IBM X3400 M3 also with LSI ServeRAID M5014) from my local vendor to test replication. I understand in order to have 2 nodes replication, the filesystem in both servers must be ZFS. Therefore, I reformatted my X3200 M3 and reinstalled proxmox with ZFS in its single drive. When I tried to boot it for the first time, it said "Hard Drive 0 failed" and failed to boot. I then tried on the X3400 M3 (also with a single hard drive) and the result was the same. I've searched around forum and I know it is possible to install ZFS on a single drive under ZFS (RAID 0), so I'm taking this issue is with the servers themselves? I know people will ask me why I need that RAID card if I only have one drive, but I am planning to add more hard drives in the future when budget allows. So could the RAID card be the reason ZFS RAID 0 doesn't work with proxmox? I don't know if the LSI configuration was wrong but initially I created a virtual drive under Group 0 for that single drive so proxmox can be installed.
Thanks!
PS - I have reverted back to XFS and both servers booted up normally.
