Can proxmox-backup-client send stream from standard input to the PBS?

This way for example sql dump could be sent do PBS without writing it anywhere on the way.

At the moment this is not possible, because proxmox-backup-client checks that the input file is either a directory (in case of pxar) or a regular file (in case you wanted to try something a little bit hacky like saving as a .log or .conf).
The best solution would probably be to write a script that saves the dump in a temporary file, makes a backup and deletes it immediately after, but i know this goes against what you wanted.

Is such a feature planned? Restic and Borg support receiving data on their standard input and that's the way we backup our App VMs in Qubes OS.

implementing it for fixed-index/image backups should be fairly straight-forward, but nobody started on it yet AFAIK: https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3847

Any news for this request? it will be very useful for backup of big file without the need for space for the host.
