Hi, i'd like to know if there i any way to use spindown easily in proxmox ? I'm running a vm with TrueNAS and i gave him basically all my disk and the whole server at best consume 80w wich is quite a lot and i really want to try my best to drop down the consumption. But after seeing some article and vids, it look not so easy and sometime can mess with the drive or the data.

Here's the hardware i use (if it can help)
R7 2700X
32gb RAM
2x 4TO HDD WD NAS
2x 2TO HDD WD BLUE
2 1.5TO HDD WD GREEN
1 CRUCIAL 480GB SSD (for proxmox)

Thanks for the help !

In case you "disk passthrough" the disks you could edit the hdparm.conf to set up spindown/APM on the PVE host.

If you work with virtual disks for your TrueNAS VM on top of some ZFS pool or similar you can't do much as PVE will poll all storages ecery few seconds and kwep them active.
Then you would need to hack pvestatd to not poll those storages.
